Description: Located 35 kms. away from Quito, are the ruins of
Rumicucho, or 'stone corner', ruins of a
Pucará [Inca Fortress], which was built around 1.500 A.D, for military use.
After visiting the ruins, we will continue to Volcano Pululahua's Crater which is the home of an important Geobotanical Reserve. The trail lasts around an hour, l allowing you to marvel at the landscape and appreciate the area's flora which attracts hundreds of butterfly species. Later on, we will drive up to the top of the mountain to get an impressive view of the crater from the
Ventanilla Mirador [Ventanilla viewpoint].
Lunch at
El Crater, a beautiful restaurant located at the edge of the crater and return to Quito.
