Description: Day 1 - City Tour Cuenca
After your arrival in Cuenca, we will take you on a city tour to see the historical centre, the main churches, flower market, Turi viewpoint and one of the most important pottery galleries of Cuenca. We then go on to visit "La Caba de Miguel" a rum distilling factory, Baños of Cuenca, a small village renowned for its thermal baths. After lunch in one Cuenca's best restaurants, where you can sample some of the region's specialities, we will visit the "Casa de la Mujer" with beautiful handcrafts made by the townswomen. We finish the day with a visit to to a Panama Hat factory, where the famous hats [known as Sombreros de Paja Toquilla] are made.
Dinner and overnight in Hotel Crespo.
Day 2 - Ingapirca Ruins
After breakfast, we depart to visit the Archeological Ruins of Ingapirca, South America's second most important Inca site after Cuzco in Perú, a cultural legacy of the Cañaris and Incas. Lunch at Posada Ingapirca surrounded by a pretty view of the ruins and Andean landscape. Return to Cuenca. Rest of the afternoon free. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Crespo.
Day 3 - Gualaceo and Chordeleg
After breakfast, departure to Gualaceo [40 minutes from Cuenca], an important handmade textile centre. Then onto Chordeleg, where you can find high quality gold and silver jewellery at low prices.
Lunch at Chordeleg and then we will return to Cuenca in time for the flight back to Quito or Guayaquil.
