Places to visit. Quevedo connects with Guayaquil by two roads: One runs through El Empalme, Balzar, Palestina, Daule and Nobol; and the other runs through the city of Babahoyo.
From Quevedo there is a beautiful road that connects Quevedo with Latacunga in the highlands and then on to the Manabi province in the coast, passing by the small villages of Mana, Pilalo, El Tingo and Zumbahua. The road is in good conditions until before PiIaIo, which is an excellent route for biking.
Getting there. There is no bus terminal in Quevedo. Every bus cooperative has its own terminal and office. There are frequent direct buses to Guayaquil through Tia, or Transportes Sucre. Both go via Daule, which is not recommended. Try Transportes Valencia, via Babahoyo [ 21/2 hours]. It's safer and takes less time than the other route. To Quito, through Transportes Macuchi [ 41/2 hours, US$5*]. To Portoviejo and to Santo Domingo de los Colorados, through Transportes Sucre.
