Olon is a quiet fishing village surrounded by a lengthy beautiful beach. A superb Sanctuary built on top of a cliff overlooks the sea and surrounding areas. It has a wooden boat hanging on it and outstanding views.

Places to visit. An interesting place to visit is El Cangrejal de Olon, which is a mangrove nearby where you'll find some threatened species such as the blue crab.

Some 12 km north from Olon the beach continues to La Entrada, on the Cordillera Chongon-Colonche; Where you can have a pleasant stroll around the area.

Getting there. Frequent bus service available through Transportes Manglaralto running from Montanita to La Libertad [1 hour], US$1.50*. CLP is the most popular cooperative running the Peninsula de Santa Elena area, it has a frequent direct service to Guayaquil.
