Manglaralto is a small village located some 190 km north of Guayaquil. Pleasant, tranquil and with a great beach for surfing and relaxing.
Manglaralto is also known for its tagua [ vegetable ivory] production. An interesting organization has been set up in the village called Pro-pueblo, which works with local communities to facilitate cottage, craft and orchard production.
Getting there. Frequent bus service to Santa Elena, about 1 1/2 hours, US$1.00 *. To La Libertad, US$1.20 *. To Puerto Lopez, about 1 1/2 hours, US$1 *. To Jipijapa, about 4 hours, US$2.50 *.
