 "EL PANTANAL" ZOO
"El Pantanal" Zoo, is located just 15 minutes from Guayaquil, km 23 via Daule. This is the best place to explore and experience a rich fauna adventure, especially for those who consider themselves Flora and Fauna lovers.

The place itself has over 3 hectares and the journey through these exciting wild fauna and exotic flora paths, takes around 2 hours. The Zoo works as well as a rescue and rehabilitation center, protecting species under captivity.

It was founded in 1962 when its owner Nelson Chiriboga began recruiting wounded and abandoned wild animals from other zoos nearby and/or farms. Once wounded species have been recovered here, they are returned to their own habitat, preferably to one of the many existing Ecuadorian ecological reserves.

The place, today converted into a wild animal rescue center holds over 120 animal species amongst rich tropical flora. Guided tours are also available.

The Zoo is open daily from 9:00 am till 17:00 pm. The admission fee is: US$3.00* for adults and US $2.00* for children.
