90 minutes from Bahia on the eastern road is Chone. Chone is a small city not quite developed for tourism. But its surrounding areas are very interesting to visit.

Places to visit
Cienega de la Segua. A huge marshland 20 minutes west from Chone, housing over 150 species of birds and 250,000 water birds.

La Cueva Dibujada. North of Chone, this is a cave with ancient drawings. It has only been recently found and investigations are currently being undertaken to determine its age. Very interesting!

Tours and guides to both exotic places are available from tour agencies in Bahia de Caraquez or, you can also hire a guide locally in the nearby towns of La Sabana and La Segua.
