system consists
of River Canar
and its tributaries.
This river
originates
in Azuay and
flows towards
the south
west into
the Gulf of
Guayaquil
near to Isla
de Mondragon.
In one particular
part it assumes
the name Culebrillas
until it joins
with River
Hatun-Canar.
Several tributaries
such as Juncal,
San Miguel,
Suscal and
San Vicente
join the river
along the
way.
River
Angas originates

along the

Chimborazo,
which later
joins up with
River Alausi
to form River
Chanchan until
reaching River
Chimbo.
River
Azoguez runs
at the foot
of the town
of the same
name which
flows towards
Chuquipata
continuing
to the province
of Azuay to
form River
Paute.

go to Guayas
