Banos might not have a reputation for rip-roaring nightlife like Guayaquil or even Quito, but small as it is, this is a town that likes to party. As you walk around in the day you're sure to be offered flyers for a pena [folk music event] that evening. During national holidays the bars and main disco are full of Quitenos who come to spend the weekend and enjoy the party vibe.
