Canoes are the
most commong
form of transport
along the rivers,
the highways
of the forest.
Some lodges
are so remote
that the only
way of reaching
them is by canoe.
Motorised wooden
canoes skim
along the smooth
surface of the
rivers as the
water cuts through
the dense jungle
of vegetation.
The view from
the canoe is
a great way
to check out
your other neighbours
including monkeys
and birds. If
you're lucky
you might spot
some pink dolphins
- a spectacular
sight.
