by bus, reaching
Zamora is
a relief.

not be much
to do in this
quiet provincial
capital, but

can bathe
away aches
and pains
from your
stiff and
shaken frame
after the
journey.

service from
the Terminal
Terrestre
to Cuenca
via Loja,

Loja

It is accessible
from Zamora,
although more
easily visited
from Loja
or Vilcabamba.
From Zamora
take the scenic
road up into
the Sierra
to Loja,
only 64 km
[40
miles]
— but over
two hours
away! From
there you
have a choice
of heading
off elsewhere
by bus or
plane, or
making your
way to Vilcabamba.
Palphinia
Located just
5km from Zamora,
this greenhouse
has many species
of orchids.
Beaches
of the Chicana
River
Chicana farm,
which breeds
sheep and
pigs, has
lovely natural
beaches. It’s
located 55km
from Zamora
.
Natentza
Farm
You can fish
in the Nangaritza
River from
this cattle
ranch, located
70 km from
the provincial
capital. Equipment
can be rented
on site.
