Some two kilometres North of Puyo along the road to Tena lies Omaere. Here you can visit a 16-hectare ethnobotanical reserve with guided tours run by Indian guides, lasting for about 2 hours. You'll find huge botanical gardens with rare plants used by natives, and the magnificent Rio Puyo where you can go fishing or swimming. Arrangements can be made from Omaere to visit other nearby reserves around the Puyo area.
