an airport
with flights
to and from
Quito. Other
recent additions
to the town
include the
main plaza
and the cathedral,
completed
in 1992.

phone calls
the Pacifictel
office is
on Avenida
24 de Mayo
between Cuenca
and Sucre.
Don't rely
on banks in
Macas for
credit card
advances.
Most tour
operators
change traveller's
cheques. There's
an internet
cafe on Soasti
near Cuenca
if you're
in need of
a quick email
fix.
