 LAGO AGRIO / GENERAL INFORMATION

The INEFAN [national parks administration] office [06 -830129], is on Manabi and 10 de Agosto streets. Open mornings and afternoons from Monday to Friday, it's a good place to start if you're looking for information about the area. They should also be able to tell you which agencies are licensed to operate in the nearby Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.

Calls

There is an Andinatel office on Avenida 18 de Noviembre, just off the main plaza.

Transport
The
TAME [06 - 830113] office is on 9 de Octubre and Orellana, and the airport is just five kilometres [three miles], east of the city centre  - a cheap taxi ride away. They operate a morning flight to and from Quito Monday to Saturday, and afternoon flights Monday to Friday.

The bus terminal is a short ride to the north of town. It takes between eight and ten hours to reach Quito, depending on the bus. Long-distance buses leave from here, while buses to Coca leave from Avenida Quito. If you're heading to Tena, go back to Baeza and change buses there. Transportes Putumayo buses, at Alfaro and Colombia, go to the Colombian border as well as east towards Cuyabeno.
