Getting there
   GETTING THERE

Currently, the Park can only be accessed by arranging a trip with the travel agencies operating in the area. These exclusively own the infrastructure and provide the necessary logistics for visitors to the area. Travelling independently to the area is almost impossible.

Arrival at the Park is possible from Francisco de Orellana (Coca) port. Coca can be accessed from Quito either by air or via the Interoceanic highway Papallacta-Baeza-Lumbaqui and Nueva Loja (Lago Agrio) or via the Baeza-Hollin-Loreto-Coca road. From there, by boat on the River Napo to Anango, which belongs to the Park and whose main attractionis its namesake lake. Continuing along the river, one can arrive at either the mouth of the River Tiputini, Nuevo Rocafuerte or towards the eastern borders of the Park. From here River Yasuni meets with Lake Jatuncocha and the lakes of Garzacocha and the Huaorani del Yasuni community. This is where most of the tourist activity takes place in the Park.

It’s also possible to access the area by road taking the road from Coca towards Pompeya. Access into the Park itself is possible by taking the Maxus road, which actuualy leads into the jungle, however, prior authorisation is needed to gain access.

The far western sectors of the Park can be accessed by a side road from the Coca-Tinguino road which leads to Yuca. From there access is possible by boat on the River Indillana. Access is also possible to the Park’s borders by boat navigating river Tiputini, Shiripuno or Tiguino, however, many tourist operators don’t use these aquatic access routes.
