Access to the Reserve is only possible via Nueva Loja (Lago Agrio) either by road or by air. Once in Lago Agrio take the Tipishua road to Tarapoa arriving at the bridge at River Cuyabeno. From there follow the length of the river in order to reach the lakes at Cuyabeno.

 

It’s also possible to gain access to the Reserve by boat via River Aguarico departing from Lago Agrio or Chiritza. The journey takes longer but presents the visitor with the opportunity to observe the sheer vastness of the Amazon rainforest.
