Departing
from
Quito
,
the
principle
access
point
to
Boliche
is
from
the
Pan-American
highway
,
which
is
approximately
an
hour’s
journey
southbound
from
the
capital.
A
road
leads
to
the
heart
of
the
area,
passing
through
a
forest
exploitation
zone
and
past
the
satellite
antennae
belonging
to
CLIRSEN
(Centre
of
Extraction
of
Natural
Resources
by
Remote
Sensors).
Once
in
pine
forest
the
scenery
takes
on
a
much
more
majestic
character
–
this
route
is
long
and
runs
the
entire
length
of
the
Recreational
Area.
Boliche
is
also
accessible
by
railroad.
Departing
from
Chimbacalle
station
in
the
south
of
Quito
,
the
journey
takes
around
two
hours
and
leads
to
the
station
which
is
situated
just
metres
away
from
El
Boliche
Administrative
Centre.
The
main
access
point
originates
from
the
Pan-American
highway
;
a
poorer
quality
road
leads
to
the
Caspi
Control
point
and
arrives
at
the
Mariscal
Sucre
Information
Centre,
where
there
is
a
small
museum
and
restaurant.
