Getting there
   GETTING THERE

Access to the Reserve is possible from Ibarra via the road to San Lorenzo , which is the main town and operational centre of the area. The road is in good condition and the journey takes around five hours.

Another possible access route is to travel from Esmeraldas to the town of La Tola , which lies in the far south of the Reserve, a further two hours by way of marshland leads to San Lorenzo . From Esmeraldas it’s also possible to go by road to Borbon and then by boat on the River Santiago to Maldonado, then resuming the road to San Lorenzo .
